I’ve worked in and around the travel, hospitality and leisure industries for 35-40 years and I’ve sold pretty much every type of holiday there is. These days I work with people I like and respect (not always the same thing, but usually!), on projects I think will be challenging, fun and satisfying. I turn down a lot and am very selective.
Most of what I currently do is at the top end of the market….I’d rather work with businesses that have a clear and differentiated product offering, who achieve decent margins because they give customers great experiences at good value.
I’ve worked in a Marketing Director and or MD/CEO capacity for some major travel brands over a 35 year period. These include the International Leisure Group, Saga, Forte, Airtours/MyTravel & Hoseasons. I’ve run tour operating, travel retailing, low cost airline, cruise & hotel businesses. Since 2010, I’ve acted as a consultant, investor & non executive board director, as well as assisting corporate finance & private equity houses.
